Coordination of the Expert Centres
Coordination in Support of Research
The Fondation FondaMental coordinates and trains medical teams and provides all Expert Centres with shared tools, including electronic medical records, national databases, and ethical and regulatory support.
All Expert Centres use standardised assessment tools tailored to each condition and collaborate by sharing collected data. Clinical and biological data from consenting patients are analysed, paving the way for precision psychiatry—an innovative and personalised approach to the psychiatry of tomorrow.
Expert Centres Accreditation
The Fondation FondaMental is responsible for accrediting the Expert Centres. This accreditation is based on shared clinical tools and strong scientific and medical collaboration across all centres. Teams use the same assessment tools and follow a common protocol for patient evaluation.
This accreditation guarantees:
- The expertise of a hospital team in a specific condition
- The quality of the scientific work conducted
- The management of an active patient cohort in consultation
Electronic Medical Records
Electronic medical records are a key tool in the operation of the Expert Centres. Developed and maintained by the Fondation FondaMental, they are used by multidisciplinary teams to collect patients’ clinical data.
There are four versions of these records, corresponding to the conditions covered: schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, autism spectrum disorders without intellectual disability, and treatment-resistant depression.
The data collected are pseudonymised and stored in a database dedicated to cohort follow-up. Their analysis helps to better understand disease progression, assess treatment effectiveness, and identify risk factors.
Objectives:
- Short term: build a biobank to complement clinical data
- Long term: accelerate discoveries through the identification of biomarkers
Coordination of the Expert Centres Network
The Fondation FondaMental plays a key role in medical and scientific coordination to strengthen cohesion across the Expert Centres, harmonise practices, and foster collaboration.
This includes:
- Monthly meetings (full-day) bringing together Expert Centres by pathology network
- Two annual schools (spring and autumn): conferences, case studies, exchanges of best practices, and scoring sessions to harmonise assessments and share scientific advances
- FondaMental Conferences: monthly webinars dedicated to the latest research developments
