Understanding the stages of disease progression
A cohort aims to follow a population of subjects, healthy or sick, for several years or decades, in order to study biological, social, economic, and environmental data, their evolution, and their interaction. Cohort follow-up is an essential tool for identifying the risk factors of a disease, characterizing the stages of disease progression, and the biological markers associated with them.
